Are you in need of a new boiler in Warrington?
As we move towards Spring it can be tempting to thank your lucky stars that your boiler held out for another year and resolve to leave it be until next Winter. But continually tempting fate with an old boiler will only ever end badly, as it’s almost always when you need it most that it finally gives up. In this blog post I’ll explain some of the reasons why you may wish to consider getting a new boiler.
Why might you get a new boiler?
To save money
The Energy Saving Trust estimates the saving you could make on installing a new boiler to be around £310 per year, but this figure comes from upgrading from the oldest, least efficient boiler to a modern one. In reality your boiler won’t be quite so old, so expect a new boiler to save you closer to half this amount, which is still a sizeable saving . If you are having to spend money frequently in order to keep your boiler running then no doubt a new boiler will be the economical option in the medium to long term.
To save energy
Perhaps not as high on your list of priorities but important nevertheless. Boilers efficiency has improved massively over the past 10 to 15 years so an upgrade will help the planet as well as your bank balance. A new boiler can produce up to 1220kg less carbon per year than your old one.
To save some room
Depending on which boiler currently have and which boiler you switch to you may be able to free up some space with a new boiler, which can be invaluable when moving house is just not an option. A combi boiler, for example, does not require a storage tank in the loft whereas a conventional boiler does, although other factors such as the size of house would first have to be considered.
To give yourself more control
Older boilers can be less flexible in how much control you have. Newer boilers come with more intuitive controls allowing to ensure you get heat and hot water when you need it, and save money when you don’t. If you don’t already have it, a boiler installation is a good time to have a smart meter installed, they’ll soon be mandatory.
When your old boiler dies
If your boiler has already broken and you’re still considering whether a new boiler is for you, then you’ll no doubt be very cold as you read this. What are you waiting for, get in touch.
